Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Laser Treatment for Broken Capillaries (SharpLight).

Most clients require one to three sessions depending on lesion size and severity. Treatments are spaced four to six weeks apart. During your consultation we’ll assess your skin, estimate the number of visits, and create a customized plan to achieve optimal results.

SharpLight is safe for many skin types, but suitability depends on your Fitzpatrick skin tone and lesion characteristics. Our technicians adjust settings to minimize risk; a consultation and patch test ensure safety and effective results for your particular skin.

You’ll experience short pulses and a warming sensation; our cooling system minimizes discomfort. Immediately after, expect mild redness and possible light swelling. Healing is quick — most people resume normal activities, while final improvements develop over several weeks.

Temporary redness, swelling, bruising or light scabbing can occur but typically resolve within days to two weeks. Serious complications are rare when performed correctly. Follow post-care instructions and avoid sun exposure to reduce side effects and promote healing.

Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least two weeks prior, discontinue retinoids or exfoliating products as advised, and avoid waxing or chemical peels. Inform us about medications; arrive with clean, makeup-free skin for a safe, effective treatment.

Some vessels may reappear over time due to factors like sun damage, rosacea, aging, or genetics. Maintenance touch-ups and diligent sun protection help extend results. We’ll recommend a long-term plan including prevention and periodic treatments to maintain clarity.
