Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Fractional Radiofrequency (RF) Facial.

Fractional RF delivers focused radiofrequency energy into the dermis creating controlled microthermal zones. This stimulates immediate collagen contraction and long-term neocollagenesis and elastin production, tightening skin and improving texture while leaving the superficial epidermis intact for safer recovery.

Most clients feel a warm, prickling or tingling sensation as RF heats the dermis. Topical numbing can be applied for comfort. Discomfort is typically mild and brief, with any post-treatment redness subsiding within hours to a few days.

Typically a series of three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart yields optimal results. The exact number depends on skin laxity and goals. Maintenance treatments every six to twelve months help preserve firmness and continued collagen remodeling.

Common side effects include mild redness, swelling, tenderness or tiny temporary crusts. Most resolve within hours to a few days. Severe complications are rare. Avoid direct sun and vigorous heat for a week, and follow post-care to minimize risks and speed healing.

Ideal candidates have mild to moderate skin laxity, sun-damaged texture or early lines and seek non-ablative tightening. It suits most skin tones. Not recommended for pregnant people, those with implanted electronic devices, active infections, or recent deep cosmetic procedures without consultation.

Prepare by avoiding retinoids, harsh exfoliants, and excessive sun exposure for a week, and disclose medications or implants. Aftercare includes gentle cleansing, moisturizing, broad-spectrum SPF, and avoiding saunas, intense exercise, or direct sun for several days. Follow your therapist’s tailored post-treatment instructions.
